Therapy, without the waiting room.
Demand for mental health support has outrun the supply of accessible appointments. People who need help are limited by who happens to practise nearby and how long the waiting list runs.
ABM Tech built a platform that closes that gap: a searchable directory of qualified therapists, scheduling that fits around real calendars, secure in-session communication, and the tools for someone to track their own progress between appointments.
The Challenge
What we needed to solve.
The client needed a platform that bridges people seeking mental health support and the professionals qualified to provide it — one that stays genuinely easy to navigate while handling some of the most sensitive data a system can hold.
It also had to give people a reason to come back: tools to manage and track their own mental wellness, not just a booking form.
The Solution
What we built.
A React.js and Material-UI front end sits on a Django backend, with Celery, RabbitMQ and Flower handling the asynchronous work that scheduling and notifications generate.
Real-time consultations run over WebRTC with Socket.io for signalling, delivered through AWS CloudFront, on infrastructure built from Docker, AWS EC2 and RDS with GitHub Actions driving deployment.
